How long does Schengen visa processing take?
Across 1135 validated timelines, the median interval is 14 days from the biometrics appointment to the reported passport date, with the middle 50% between 8 and 21 days. Portugal has the shortest median appointment-to-passport-date timeline among countries meeting the 30-report threshold: 7 days across 90 validated timelines. A timeline is included only when both dates form a 1–119-day interval. Each usable case below shows the appointment date, the passport date recorded by the source and the days between them. Direct submissions use the day the passport was returned; wording in imported community reports can vary. Treat this as a reported timeline, not a guaranteed or like-for-like official processing measure.
Multiple-entry vs single-entry Schengen visa statistics
84% of the 1360 reports with a known entry type were multiple-entry. Some reports show a restricted stay such as 15 days within a 30-day validity window (displayed as “15/30” below). Reports without a known entry type are excluded from this percentage, so the denominator differs from the total report count. The figure describes this self-selected dataset and is not an official administrative rate.
How high is the Schengen visa refusal rate?
Among 1419 community reports with a known outcome, 33 were reported as refused; 1 additional reports did not have a usable outcome. Because submissions are self-selected and are not a complete administrative record, this dataset cannot estimate an official approval or refusal rate. For official administrative totals, use the European Commission's Schengen visa statistics. Refused community cases can still provide context where an applicant chose to share the reason.
How to use these statistics before you apply
Read each metric with its own sample size: missing validity, entry type, timeline or outcome values are excluded separately, so denominators can differ. Medians reduce the effect of extreme values, while the middle-50% range shows the spread around the median. Recent case files add date and city context. Because reports are voluntary and self-selected, cross-country differences are descriptive rather than causal or predictive.

Where the source message is public, Telegram-sourced cases link back so readers can inspect it. The data is community-sourced and anecdotal—not official immigration guidance—and a missing field is excluded from that metric's denominator. The timeline endpoint is the passport date recorded by each source: direct submissions use the return date, while community-report wording can vary. Timeline statistics require a positive interval under 120 days; records outside that validation range remain cases but do not enter the timeline metric.
